We have two types of membership: digital and darkroom, each with two different prices for student and non-student, respectively.

Semester prices: runs from the start of each semester (January/August)

Full-year prices/Two semesters: runs from the start of each semester (January/August)

With digital membership you get free access (within the house’s opening hours) to the studio, scanners and A3 printer (printer is only for personal use and paper is not included).

Darkroom membership gives you access to the darkroom at Chateau Neuf, including developing tanks, enlargers etc. If you have a student card from the University of Oslo you get access with this card. The digital membership is embedded in the darkroom membership fee.
NB! All kinds of membership require membership in the Norwegian Students’ Society in order for you to gain access to the house.

Access To The Darkroom

If you want to become a darkroom member and have an access card issued by the University of Oslo (student ID or employee card) we need your card number – this is on the back of the card. Also, remember that your card needs a four-digit code to work on the doors of Chateau Neuf. If you haven’t already decided such a code for your card, you can take it to the SiO Customer Service Center (behind Akademika on the Frederikke square) to arrange this.

Students from other institutions, or non-students must register their social security number in the registration form in order for UiO to grant you access to Chateau Neuf. The Board will notify you by email when the registration is complete, and you can fetch your access card at SiO Customer Service Center at Blindern.

Membership Obligations

According to the bylaws all members need to participate in at least one volunteer duty during the semester, such as docu-assignments, voluntary work, wardrobe / bar duties etc.

Already A Member?

You can renew your membership with Vipps #724304, wire transfer to our bank account 1503.15.28418, or use cash at one of our club meetings. You do not need to fill in the registration form below if you are just renewing your membership.

If you wish to pay the fee via wire transfer to our bank account, please mark your payment with your name and membership type (e. g. Diane Arbus, non-student darkroom member, 1 year).
